The documentary Unbroken: A Story of Resistance shines a light on the victims of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the efforts of war-trauma counsellors to help them recover and rebuild their lives.
I first met director and Toronto Star correspondent Katharine Lake Berz during a panel I moderated at the Toronto Shorts International Film Festival. I later had the chance to talk with her one-on-one about about her experience documenting the victims of Russian terror and sharing the stories of those who are working to help them move on.
